What happened to the summer?
My feet seem to bounce off of the asphalt as I engage my early morning run. In the dark grey of a typical October morning, frozen rain stings my face. It was only weeks ago, I remember lying in the park, drifting in and out of consciencousness. Hearing waves lapping off the rocks below, listening to children screaming as their toes dipped into the icy cold water of Lake Michigan. A bumblebee lands on a Dandelion nearby, I try not to move. What happened to the summer?

Nature changes her dress -- one day you notice that there are yellows and reds in the trees, the air becomes chilly, and before you know it, summer is gone...
And Nature wears her flaming colors.
I think -- but wait -- it was just hot last week -- and wait until I absolutely can't go out without a coat anymore...

i miss summer too. although fall is my favorite season. it seems as though it should be july by my internal clock. time does not wait for us. why don't you come and sip some sweet tea with me, we will watch re-runs on tv and we shall pretend it is summer once again.
